A Comparison of
Daniel Lewis
and Lamar Alexander
on the Issues

Daniel Lewis' main focus is reducing the size, scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues. This is the best way to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

Philosophy of Government

US Cpital

Daniel Lewis supports reducing the size, scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues, and opposes increasing the size, scope or power of government at any level or for any purpose. Read More

Abortion

Fetus

We must promote respect for individual liberty while insuring that no one is unjustly deprived of life. Reducing the role the government plays in healthcare, can make such issues as abortion obsolete by providing more and better choices. Read More

American Independence and Sovereignty

The Uited Nations

So called free trade deals and world governmental organizations like the International Criminal Court (ICC), NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and CAFTA threaten our independence as a nation. They transfer power from our government to unelected foreign elites. American companies should be able to do business anywhere in the world, while our government must avoid entangling alliances with any nation. We should withdraw from all “free trade” and world government treaties (like the U.N. Charter). Read More

Crime

Crime

Many of our population have had their lives ruined by being prosecuted and imprisoned for committing victimless crimes. It is time to repeal all victimless crimes and end the failed war on drugs, which really is just a war on some drugs. The best way to prevent real crime is to allow very American to be armed, so they can defend themselves and their family and property. Crime prevention is too important of an issue for government to handle. Read More

Drugs: War on Some Drugs

DEA

For more than 30 years the U.S. has spent billions of dollars and had millions of Americans incarcerated, yet illegal drugs remain cheap, potent and widely available in every community; and the harms associated with them continue to mount. The war on drugs only targets “some drugs”, and in reality this war on “some drugs” is a war on “all Liberty.” We must end the war on drugs immediately. Read More

Education

Education

America’s children deserve the highest quality education available. Our government run schools continue to provide high cost and low quality education. Meanwhile non-government schools offer quality education at a low cost. We shoul Our children would be better served in non-government schools. Parents should be able to choose where and how their children are educated. We should end any government involvement or control of education. Choices about our children’s educations are too important for the government to handle. Read More

Environment

ANWAR

The benefits of keeping our environment pristine far outweigh the benefits of polluting it. The force of government is not doing a very good job at protecting the environment. As a matter of fact, the U.S. Government is the worst polluter in America and allows its own agencies to violate environmental laws and policies. The best way to keep the environment pristine is through persuasion. For example, companies can save money by employing more energy efficient methods of operating. We should end all government oversight or regulation related to the environment. Protecting the environment is too important for the government to handle. Read More

Employment and Affirmative Action

Workers

Removing government regulation of the work place, and minimum wage laws will allow unskilled labors to access employment that could give them the important skills they need to enter and advance in the work force. We must end any government oversight or control of the workplace and employment. Controlling the way we earn our living is too important for the government to handle. Read More

Healthcare

Healthcare

Removing government regulations of healthcare will make healthcare more affordable. Getting the government out of approving pharmaceuticals will allow the infirmed to get the lifesaving treatments they need. We must end government regulation and oversight of all issues related to healthcare. Making choices about our healthcare is too important for the government to handle. Read More

Immigration and Border Safety

U.S. Border

Our borders are currently neither open, closed, nor secure. This situation restricts the labor pool, encouraging employers to hire undocumented workers, while leaving those workers neither subject to nor protected by the law. Requirements for entering our country should be limited to a criminal background check and basic health screening. The path to citizenship should be greatly simplified. Read More

Marriage and Family

Marriage

Nothing is more personal than making choices about marriage and family. For many reasons choices about marriage should be made by those who wish to be married and their place of worship if they choose to include a spiritual element in their marriage. Government should have nothing to do with sanctioning, approving, or recognizing marriages. Matters of marriage and family are too important for the government to handle. Read More

Poverty

poverty

The poor and needy deserve better than the indignity of having to deal with government agencies to get their basic needs meet. Local non-government charities provide a more cost effective way to meet the needs of the poor than government welfare. They are also better equipped to prevent fraud and abuses. We must end all government involvement in taking care of the poor. Taking care of our poor is too important for the government to handle. Read More

Second Amendment

The Second Amendment

The founders ratified the Second Amendment knowing that the right to be armed is the guardian of every other right, and they all would be horrified by the proliferation of unconstitutional legislation that prevents law-abiding Americans from exercising this right. We should repeal all gun laws and abolish the ATF. The right to be armed is the best protection against crime and tyranny. Our safety and the safety of our loved ones are too important for the government to handle. Read More

Spending Cuts

Spending Cuts

The first thing the U.S. Senate must do to fix our budget is control spending. Spending should be limited to functions specifically authorized in the Constitution. Even in executing its Constitutional powers Congress must show restraint and allow government to have the smallest role possible. We should cut Federal spending by about 84%. Congress must work to reduce the size scope and power of government in all areas and oppose increasing the size scope or power of government in any area. Most functions in our daily lives are too important for government to handle. Read More

Taxes

taxes

We should work to first reduce and then eliminate any and all taxes that we can. Government spending must be limited to Constitutional functions. Government should not be a burden upon the governed. Deciding how your money is spent is too important for the government to handle. Read More

Wars

wars

America’s defense doctrine has been (War Memorial frame028) subverted into a quest for empire. The world has 192 countries or independent states. United States military troops are located in 135 countries. America must return to the foreign policy envisioned by our nation’s founders, a foreign policy of unrestricted trade with all nations and entangling alliances with none. The costs of maintaining a global empire are too high. It is time to bring all our troops home from all over the world as quickly and safely as possible. Read More
